Biography

Stefan Kokovic: Capturing Emotions in Black and White Stefan Kokovic, born and raised in the vibrant city of Belgrade, Serbia, is an exceptional photographer whose work is defined by his profound passion for photography and his inspiration drawn from the works of Peter Lindbergh. At a young age, he discovered his fascination with the world of imagery, embarking on a remarkable journey in this creative realm. After completing his studies at the prestigious "Metropolitan University" in Belgrade, Stefan continued his quest for knowledge and perfection at the "Accademia de Lusso" in Milan. In this renowned fashion capital, he deepened his understanding of aesthetics and fashion, which later manifested in his unique photographic style. At the tender age of 17, Stefan ventured into the world of professional photography, commencing his career as a photo assistant. It was during this time that he developed a keen sense of photography's ability to capture emotions and forge a profound connection between the viewer and the image. Influenced by Peter Lindbergh, a pioneer of black and white photography, Stefan Kokovic crafts his photographs in this timeless style. He regards photography as a means to capture emotions and establish an intense relationship between the image and the viewer. In his own words, "I am all about emotions, to me, the most important thing is to create a connection between the viewer and the photograph." In 2019, Stefan published his first book titled "RED," featuring a collection of semi-erotic portraits of friends and acquaintances. This work marked the beginning of an exciting phase in his career. In 2022, he followed up with his second book, "FACES," accompanied by a successful exhibition attended by 400 invited guests in September of that year. Currently residing in Vienna, Stefan Kokovic is determined to enrich and expand the fashion scene in this city. In 2015, he had already made his mark by giving his first interview to Esquire Magazine, paving the way for numerous collaborations with renowned publications such as Esquire Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue Italia, Elle Magazine, Playboy, Men's Health, and L'Officiel. Recognition for his exceptional talent culminated in 2022 when he was honored with the title of "Photographer of the Year." Despite his strong ties to Vienna, Stefan Kokovic also calls Madrid, Spain, home, where he continues to work on impressive projects and pursue his artistic journey. ©norakahn
